The ExaSAN solution involves combining the high-bandwidth properties of the ExaRAID HD (External PCI-Express 20Gb disk array system) with the ExaSAN Device Host multiple-storages switch and the ExaSAN Host Switch multiple workstations switch. The solution provides high-speed and highly flexible data sharing capacity, which can be used in general post-production editing, or in workflows with large video streaming transmission requirements for broadcasting solution such as centralized, ingest, play out and archive. This 20Gb high-speed solution not only reduces implementation costs but also speeds up the production speed of digital content, creating unparalleled value for the user.

ExaSAN is a complete External PCI-Express SAN solution that consists of all SAN components required for SAN deployment, such as the disk array system-ExaRAID HD, ExaSAN Device Switch, ExaSAN Host Switch, External PCIe optical cable and PCIe NT Re-drive Card. In addition to comprehensive quality assurance and a single contact window for customer support, the advantages of a single vendor also include the overall ExaSAN framework efficiency and implementation cost, which compares favorably with FC solutions. ExaSAN can be fully integrated with Xsan and Final Cut Pro systems, with the ability to implement a shared volume and shared editing SAN environment.

Performance
ExaSAN has leveraged a native External PCI-Express protocol, which is greatly different from traditional FC. Each PCIe lane can provide a bandwidth of 250MB/s.ExaSAN provide a high bandwidth of 20Gb. In addition to high bandwidths, ExaSAN’s unique “Zero protocol conversion loss” technology maximizes the overall throughput of ExaRAID HD. ExaSAN speed and performance as well as disk utilization exceed twice of those of FC solutions.
