Disk drives compatible with SAS and SATAII
SS-4551E/SS-4552E providing flexible SAS disk connectivity running at 3Gbps speed, and it enables the flexibility for low-cost/high-capacity SATA drives and high- performance/reliable SAS drives to share single storage chassis.
SAS expansion for huge storage of JOB solution
Fulfilling the demand for building reliable storage of huge capacity has been one of the key requirements for Arena RAID systems. With SS-4551E/SS-4552E offering backend expansion, users can build huge-size storage at a lower cost, by using single RAID system as the front-end controller plus multiple JBOD systems as the back-end storage, instead of using multiple RAID systems. With the SAS expansion solution, users can attach SAS JBOD to a RAID system and enjoy the flexibility to choose SAS or SATA disk drives depending on the applications.
SAN-ready storage presentation
To support enterprise-class SAN environments, the SS-4551E/SS-4552E RAID system provides the selective storage presentation, by which different hosts can see different LUN mappings on the same FC port and one host can see different LUN mappings on different FC ports. The binding between hosts and internal storage resources can be flexibly done on any FC ports, while hosts and LUNs can be grouped for simplifying the administration. These features enable easy and effective storage resource sharing in SAN infrastructures.
